Rose-Act Saturday School

Rose-Act Saturday SchoolHISTORY

Rose-Act was started in 1991 by several young people of Rosebank Union Church, in an effort to enhance education in Alexandra, and provide additional educational experiences to students in a Christian-based setting.

LOCATION

We hire classrooms at the Central Johannesburg College, Alexandra Campus, on the border of Kew and Alexandra. The College is fenced with security guards, so cars/visitors are completely safe.

WHEN

Every Saturday, except school holidays and public holidays.

WHO

Learners from Grades 5 to 12, living mostly in Alexandra, but some from Tembisa, Diepsloot and even Soweto.

WHY

Our students are keen to improve their school work in a different learning environment with different teachers; in a family atmosphere where they are loved and encouraged to be who God planned them to be.

WHY WOULD YOU GET INVOLVED?

God calls us all to be His feet and hands in a world that needs His love, strength, compassion and wisdom. He calls us to make a difference in someone else’s life. Education for many of our students is haphazard and lacking in motivation. You can instill a love for learning and give back students back their self esteem.
